Avalon Organics lavender hand lotion

Share

I love browsing through the health and beauty section of our local Whole Foods Market. Today, I found the Avalon Organics Lavender Hand lotion. The regular size (12oz) was priced at $9.99 but the larger size (32oz) was on a temp sale for $13.99, which was a really good price, considering the size. I decided to try it out.

Here are the details from the Avalon Organics website:

My thoughts:

I used probably a nickel sized drop of lotion as my hands are pretty dry these days. The scent was wonderful, floral and light, just like lavender flowers. I am sensitive to “fake” perfumes and such, and there was nothing fake about this scent. After I spread the lotion on the fronts and backs of my hands, it felt a little greasy for roughly 45-60 seconds until it dried. If you are someone who just cannot stand that greasy feeling, you might not like this lotion, but I have to say, that feeling went away pretty quickly.

And my hands felt really soft once the lotion soaked in/dried a little bit. After about an hour, I had occasion to wash my hands. The greasy feeling came back just a little bit as I was washing them, but it wasn’t a problem for me. And after I dried my hands, I noticed that they were still soft and the scent, albeit a little fainter, was still there! The bottle recommends reapplying the lotion after you wash your hands, but I personally would only reapply after 2-3 handwashings.

I definitely agree with the daily use recommendation.  This lotion is light enough to use daily,  and it does make your hands very soft.  I’m glad I bought it!
